Vacature Communicatievrijwilliger bij Caritas Africa in Lomé, Togo
Caritas Vlaanderen en Caritas Afrika zijn verbonden via het wereldwijde Caritas-netwerk, dat bestaat uit meer dan 160 nationale Caritasorganisaties en wordt gecoördineerd door Caritas Internationalis in Rome. Vanuit Vlaanderen zetten we ons dagelijks in voor armoedebestrijding, solidariteit en sociale rechtvaardigheid, maar we kijken ook verder dan onze eigen regio.
Daarom werken we nauw samen met Caritas Africa, het regionale samenwerkingsverband van Caritasorganisaties uit 46 Afrikaanse landen. Het coördineert de gezamenlijke werking, belangenbehartiging en capaciteitsopbouw van Afrikaanse Caritasorganisaties.
Om deze missie zichtbaarder te maken, rekruteert Caritas Vlaanderen een communicatievrijwilliger die zich een jaar lang wil inzetten bij Caritas Africa in Lomé, Togo.

Hoe ziet je takenpakket eruit?
Als communicatievrijwilliger ben je een volwaardig lid van het communicatieteam van Caritas Africa. Je taken zijn gevarieerd en creatief:
- Contentcreatie: schrijven van artikels, nieuwsbrieven en persberichten; maken van content voor video's, documentaires en sociale media.
- Contentdistributie: beheer van website en sociale media, mee opzetten van podcasts en organiseren van media-interviews.
- Mediamonitoring: opvolgen van de media en impact meten van campagnes.
- Mediarelaties: contacten onderhouden met journalisten en partners, en de mediadatabase up-tu-date houden.

Wie zoeken wij?
- Je hebt (eerste) ervaring in communicatie, journalistiek of een gelijkaardig domein.
- Je schrijft vlot en helder en hebt ervaring met sociale media.
- Je kan zelfstandig werken, maar bent ook een teamspeler.
- Je bent flexibel, creatief en gedreven door maatschappelijke rechtvaardigheid.
- Je spreekt Frans en Engels. (Portugees is een pluspunt.)

To make this mission more visible, Caritas Flanders is recruiting a communications volunteer to support Caritas Africa in Lomé, Togo for one year.

Your role
As a communications volunteer, you will be a full member of the Caritas Africa communications team. Your tasks are varied and creative:
- Content creation: writing articles, newsletters, and press releases; creating content for videos, documentaries, and social media.
- Content distribution: managing the website and social media channels, helping launch podcasts, and organising media interviews.
- Media monitoring: tracking media coverage and measuring campaign impact.
- Media relations: maintaining contact with journalists and partners, and keeping the media database up to date.

Who are we looking for?
- You have initial experience in communication, journalism, or a related field.
- You write fluently and clearly and have experience with social media.
- You can work independently, but you’re also a team player.
- You are flexible, creative, and motivated by social justice.
- You speak French and English (Portuguese is a plus).
